Ethanol helps lower gas prices
A May 2005 report by the Consumer Federation of America noted that ethanol was helping consumers save money at the pump in areas where ethanol-blended gasoline was available. The report also stated that drivers across the nation could be saving as much as eight cents per gallon on gasoline if only petroleum marketers would blend more ethanol into the nation’s fuel supply.
